Highland Elementary is participating in the “Hometown Showdown”. Lip Sync battle next Saturday to benefit the TJ Community Mission Foundation. The team that raises the most money will be presented a trophy the night of the Lip Sync Battle.

Ben and Jessica Wells paid a visit to Mrs. Horn and Mrs Smith's classroom yesterday to read Ben's new book, Sunny Pearl. All the children got their own copy thanks to Mr. Gaunce. The kids loved meeting Sunny Pearl. Ben is a musician and a Glasgow graduate.
We ended our week with our annual "Holly Volley" volleyball tournament championship!! #164Scottie #ThisIsHighland

Kindergarten students read and watched "The Polar Express" today. Then we got a surprise visit from the conductor himself! He punched our tickets before boarding The Polar Express where we listened to him read the book aloud to us in our pajamas. Later he returned to deliver a package to us from The North Pole. Inside were freezing cold bells from Santa's sleigh, just like in the book! 🚂
The 4-H program from Highland’s afterschool program, Kids’ Club, brought some Christmas cheer to our neighbors at Highland Ridge. The students sang a few songs and passed our handmade Christmas cards.
HES had a great "Staffulty Christmas Party" tonight! Thanks to our board of education and PTO for sponsoring this event, and to First United Methodist Church for hosting us! #164Scottie #ThisIsHighland
